HOOPS KLYCE 1999 ALL-ROOKIE FANTASY TEAMS June 11, 1999 First Team All-Rookie Vince Carter, TOR - Led all rookies in scoring. Was able to contribute in all the categories in only his rookie season. Paul Pierce, BOS-All-round fantasy player with particular strengths in steals (1.7 per game) and treys (1.8 per game at an impressive 41%). Jason Williams, SAC-Led all rookies in minutes played. Averaged 1.9 steals with only 1.8 fouls per game to go along with it. Mike Bibby, VAN-Put together a solid first year in the obscurity of Vancouver. Played in all games averaging 13.2 pts and 6.5 asts. Second Team All-Rookie Michael Olowokandi, LAC-Started slowly but should become a regular double-double guy next year with some shot blocking potential as well. Antawn Jamison, GSW -Had competition for playing time but improved in the second half of the shortened season. Can put up points and rebounds but needs to work on the other categories. Tyrone Nesby, LAC -One of six rookies to average double digit scoring. Was a nice free agent pick up in fantasy leagues last season. Cuttino Mobley, HOU -Another free agent pickup who on some nights could score big particularly from three point land. Larry Hughes, PHI-Averaged 9 pts, 3.5 reb, and 1 stl in less than 20 mpg. Numbers should increase significantly in his second season. Honorable Mention Raef LaFrentz, DEN-Was putting up impressive point and rebound numbers when his season ended due to injury after only 12 games. Dis-Honorable Mention Dirk Nowitzki, DAL -Was non-existent for much of the season. Robert Traylor, MIL -As a power forward averaged only 3.7 rebounds per game. Note: Matt Harpring made the real NBA All-Rookie First Team but his stats weren't significant enough for even Honorable Mention on the Hoops Klyce Fantasy All-Rookie team.
