Advice
Dan Dickau
of
New Orleans has been consistently getting over
30 mpg and is a potential source of assists. He does have the
potential however to do some damage to your FG% category. I think
he should get fairly reliable minutes coming his way despite the
return of
Baron Davis.
The trade of
David Wesley
for
Jim Jackson
should also bode well
for Dickau. I would think this trade could only make Jim Jackson's
playing time and output go down.
Lee
Nailon
has evolved into a primary offensive option for
New Orleans. On Monday night he had 28 points
and had been over 18 points in four of his previous five games. A
drawback for him is minimal contributions outside of points. That
could make him good trade bait for other owners who tend to look at
points too much.
Tony Battie
has been over 33
minutes in his last five games for the Magic. He is a potential
source of free agent rebounds with some contributions in blocks.
Jason Hart's
production has been
highly volatile with assists games of 15 and 10 mixed in with totals
of 1. On Monday night he got an extended run with
Brevin Knight
out with flu like
symptoms. While Knight will continue to contribute to inconsistency
from Hart, I think Hart is worth hanging on to until the time is
right to make him active regularly. Knight is not the point guard
of the future for Charlotte and has an extensive injury history. I
also like Hart's ability to contribute in the steal category.
Predrag Drobnjak
and
Tony Delk
both had good games for
the Hawks Monday night going 8-12 FG. But on the Hawks team they
could easily score zero in their next game and probably aren't even
worth taking a flyer on.
Nenad Kristic
is the center of the
future with the Nets and has good job security with Mourning gone.
He has played over 28 minutes in his last four games and has the
potential to contribute points, rebounds, and blocks.
Vince Carter
had quite a nice game
in his first appearance for the Nets. I for one traded him away
while he was killing my FG% as a Raptor. Those who currently own
him should hope he can keep it up. Playing with
Jason Kidd
should be a tremendous
plus for him.
Memphis won Monday night
and had one of those horrifying Hubie Brownish box scores where 9
Grizzlies got over 20 minutes.
Jason Williams
in particular had been
enjoying the effects of a shorter rotation with 18 pts, 7.6 assists,
1.8 st, and 3 treys per game in his previous five games. I would
think that Memphis goes back to a
shorter rotation restoring value back to players in favor like
Williams and
James Posey.
However it does not help that
Memphis broke a two game losing streak with the
extended rotation.
Willie Green
has gotten back into
the Sixers rotation but has not been too impressive with the minutes
given to him.
Luke Ridnour has been
horrible from the field lately but still is contributing in
assists. Brave and risky owner may want to try a contrarian
approach and trade for him (cheap) thinking that his shooting has to
get better. I actually did this in a league where I needed
assists. I gave up Ricky Davis for him (standard 8 category
league). Ridnour's job security seems to be immune to the brick
laying and he also can contribute steals.
