Hoops,
I am a long time subscriber. Thank's for the best kept secret in fantasy bball. Is it time to cut Van Horn loose?

Van Horn was productive before going on the IL in December.  Since coming back he has been playing reduced minutes but those minutes seem to be trending up slightly.  You might regret cutting him loose if he gets back into shape and becomes productive again.  I would try to tough it out a couple more games to see if he shows better signs.

Hi Hoops,
You and I have probably both noticed that Kyle Korver and Samuel Dalembert have started the last four or so games for the Sixers. What are your feelings or knowledge about either one of these guys keeping that starting position for the year ? I like Korver for treys and Dalembert for cheap blocks and boards if they can maintain the jobs.

Also, congrats on the Eagles advancing to the Super Bowl !!
Thanks,     Bob

Bob,
I don't get to see the Sixers as much as I would like, but my feeling is that Dalembert should be a fairly reliable starter.  He is a young player with some hops and Marc Jackson seems destined for a bench role albeit a significant one.  Not as confident about Korver.  Although O'Brien LOVES the three point shot having turned Antoine Walker into the monster he is, and Korver is the Sixers best three point shooter, I think certain situations might find Korver coming off the bench.  I am also concerned that if Korver logs too many minutes he will wear down and see his per minute production drop in categories such as reb, st, and blocks.  Korver has started 16 of the Sixers 41 games so far and Dalembert has started 22.

Any feedback on the following?  I trade Rashard, Boozer, and Ratliff for Peja, Zach Randolph, and Kristic.  I know that Peja and Zach are banged up now, but it seems like I'd get a little more than I'd give. I would hope Kristic could learn to stay out of foul trouble this year.

I looked over the recent performances of all the players in the referenced trade as well as the year to date numbers.  My recommendation is to not pull the trigger.  The key reason is that two of the three players you are trading for are not 100%.  Even when they have been 100%, really Boozer has been up there with Randolph and Lewis has been performing at a level similar to Peja.  Ratliff can make an impact in the block category and would seem a nice complement to Boozer and Lewis provided your team scores enough as a whole.

What do you think of Rashard Lewis in the CDM game.  It is a straight roto game  2FG, 3FG,FT, TP, ORB, DRB, AST, STL, and BLKs.  I think there about 1750 teams.  I am above 1700 in 2FG, TP, and DRB, above 1600 in FT, BLK, ORB, above 1500 in AST and STL.  I am only 1035 in 3FG's.  I bought Korver today and so far that is working out.  Salaries are a factor in this game and Lewis is 262 compared to the most expensive player, Garnett at 386.  Anyway, I think I can play Lewis in all his 4 game weeks and he would be an uncommon player who could really help or hurt.

Steve:

I saw Korver win the 76ers game tonight while hitting three treys.  He really looked confident - as if he deserved to take the last shot that was passed to him by Iverson.  If Lewis is economical I think he can contribute in that system.  I would say he can rank in the top 30 and give 2-3 treys per game.
