Saturday Night Notes

If Kyle Korver if still available in your league you should try to find room for him on your roster. Korver is showing that he has the ability to be more than a Pat Garrity type of spot up shooter. Through nine games in addition to hitting 3 treys per game he has averaged 1.4 steals per game. In his last two games he has a total of 9 assists. The Sixers should be looking to give him more playing time, likely at the expense of Willie Green.

Brendan Haywood's shot blocking binge continued last week following up his 7 block effort with two 4 block games.

Jerry Stackhouse has scored over 19 points in his last 4 games. Injuries to the Mavericks have given him this opportunity. Jason Terry though may be back soon.

Luke Ridnour has at least one steal in each of his ten games this season and on some nights can contribute assists including a three game stretch recently with a total of 25 assists.

Another one who can contribute in the assist and steal categories is Marko Jaric. In his last five games he has 33 assists and 16 steals. Shaun Livingston though has the potential to threaten his playing time and turned in one of his best games as a pro on Saturday night with 13 point and 2 steals (OT game).

Mark Blount's production is at a level lower than he left off at last season. Looks like he could be letting up after signing his big contract. I suspected that might happen with him along with Eric Dampier. In that regard I would not be optimistic of him returning to the form he showed last season.

The demise of Kenny Thomas has me somewhat perplexed. It could be related to the coaching change in Philadephia. I have not written him off yet. His shots are not falling but his rebound per minute numbers are healthy.

My trade away recommendations for the week are Alonzo Mourning and Chris Webber. Zo has shown quite a comeback and I can't imagine his trading value getting much higher than it is now. Webber is putting up reasonable numbers and is due for his customary injury. For that matter Grant Hill's value may be at the highest point it may see this season now also.

As I write this Eddie Griffin is in the midst of perhaps his best game of the season with 19 points and 6 reb after 3 quarters. Perhaps worth taking a flyer on in deep leagues.
