Caron Butler's has a back injury and his status is
day-to-day. Antawn Jamison also continues to be day-to-day. This could
translate into additional playing time for Jarvis Hayes in the near future.
Jamal Crawford will have season ending surgery to repair
the stress fracture in his ankle. Check out the Knicks tonight to see if
someone steps up to claim his minutes. It is possible that Quentin
Richardson will shift to shooting guard with Jared Jeffries or Renaldo
Balkman starting at SF.
Shaun Livingston is expected to have season ending
surgery on his injured knee. His recovery could extend into next season.
This injury will restore playing time for Sam Cassell. Note it is likely
that Cassell will have chronic injuries for the remainder of the season as
has been the case for him in the past.
2/26/07
R. Alston has hit 14 treys in his last three games and has scored over 20
pts in each of these games. However for the year he is shooting only 38%
FG.
T. Ariza played for the first time since Jan 10th and had 14
pts and 5 reb in 20 min.
J. Kapono was tied with Shaq for FG attempts in yesterdays game, an
indication that without D. Wade he becomes a primary offensive option.
With David Lee out,
C. Frye played 40 min and had 15 pts and 4 reb. Lee is day-to-day with
an ankle sprain.
B. Nachbar has scored at least 15 pts in three of his last four games and
has made 13 threes over the last four games.
A. Johnson had 17 pts and 5 ast in his first game for the Hawks. Tyronne
Lue did not play in this game.
M. Evans has averaged 20 pts and 1.3 st over his last three games for the
Lakers, the past two of which he has started. He has gotten the opportunity
with Luke Walton and Vladimir Radmanovic out with injuries.
With
B. Miller apparently perpetually day-to-day with a foot injury, those in
weekly leagues may want to even consider waiving him for someone more
reliable.
Emeka Okafor and Gerald Wallace each have muscles
strains. The severity of the injuries or their anticipated return dates has
not been published.
2/23/07
The Heat played their first game without
the injured D. Wade. Wade will be out from around 6 weeks to the end of
the season. Since the game was a blowout to the Mavs it was tough to get a
good read on the new playing rotation with him gone. Note that Payton
started but was ineffective. Players to keep an eye on for an increase in
fantasy value are the recently acquired
E. Jones and the recently activated
D. Wright. Jones did play 29 minutes and had 4 steals and Wright put up
decent numbers considering his limited playing time. Existing starters can be
expected to increase their scoring without Wade in the lineup. Jason
Williams has played in only 2 of the last 10 Heat games and could have some
value if he can stay healthy.
Dallas traded Anthony Johnson to Atlanta for a 2007 2nd
round draft pick. It is possible, considering the point guard situation in
Atlanta, that he could end up with some fantasy value before the season is
over.
Portland traded Juan Dixon to Toronto for Fred Jones and
future considerations. It is unlikely this trade will change either player's
fantasy value.
Boris Diaw is day-today with back spasms. Kurt Thomas
has started the last two games for him.
2/21/07
M. James with 20 pts had his best
offensive game since Dec 27th.
R. Foye started and had 10 pts in
29 min.
D. Stevenson had his best
offensive game of the season with 23 points in 37 minutes. His defense is
good enough to give him playing time even when his offensive game is off.
The Wizards typically don't need offense from him either considering they
have Arenas, Butler, and Jamison.
M. Redd returned and resulted in
E. Boykins playing only 21
minutes. He had typically been getting much more time with Redd out.
A. Iverson returned to action
although he is not completely 100% with ailments including the flu.
G. Green played only 7 minutes as
a result of foul problems.
B. Roy has continued to show his
potential with 27 pts and 7 ast. Expect him to be a strong fantasy player
(when healthy) for the remainder of the season.
L. Ridnour has been in the
starting lineup the past 4 games perhaps featuring him for a trade. This has
resulted in less playing time for Earl Watson.
Deron Williams is day to day with a strained groin.
Carlos Boozer status is now
upgraded to day-to-day as he recovers from a hairline fracture in his leg.
Bruce Bowen is apparently
playing with injuries. If he misses time Michael Finley could benefit.
Vladimir Radmanovic has an injury that will keep him out
at least a month. Over his past ten games he had been playing 25 mpg. Look
to see who benefits from his absence.
Jason Richardson is expected
to play Wednesday night. Monta Ellis and Mickeal Pietrus could see a
reduction in playing time.
2/14/07
Tony Battie continues to heal
from a thumb injury giving Darko Milicic additional playing time. He has
started the past three games for the Magic although he has not played since
Feb. 10th. In his most recent game he had 16 pts, 12 reb, and 4
bl.
D. Stoudamire was out with with
the flu giving
C. Atkins the opportunity to start
and have 19 pts and 6 ast. He has scored in double figures in his past three
games but his output has been inconsistent including a recent game where he
played only 4 minutes.
H. Warrick is coming off a 16 pt,
12 reb, and 1 bl game and has scored in double digits in his past 3 games off
the bench.
C. Paul over his past 7 games has
averaged 14.4 shot attempts making only 38%. He typically shoots around 44%
with a limited number of shots from three point range.
Over his past 4 games
Q. Richardson is averaging 13 pts,
10 reb, 2 stl, and 1.8 treys.
Over his last 7 games
L. Deng has averaged 23 pts, 9 reb,
and 54% shooting.
A. Bargnani played a season high 38
min off the bench and had 22 pts and 4 treys. His surge in playing time
seems to be at the expense of Morris Peterson making his future not look so
bright.
B. Miller will be out past the
All-Star break with a partially torn fascia in his foot.
Over his last six games
R. Artest is averaging 22 pts, 8.7
reb, 4 ast, 2.3 stl, and 2.7 treys.
S. Battier had double digit shot
attempts for the first time since Jan 17th on his way to 25 pts, 8
reb, 2 bl, and 4 treys. This is a player that should continue to shoot more
but probably will not.
D. Harris's playing time has been
steadily decreasing over the past couple months to the points that his owners
should consider giving up on him.
J. Kidd will miss a couple
games with a sore back giving
Marcus Williams some value in
daily transaction leagues.
Bonzi Wells played 28 minutes
after missing 3 games with a bruised back.
Over his last 6 games Rudy Gay
has averaged 13 pts, 1 stl, and 1.3 bl. He is the type to give a little
across the stat sheet and could be in store for a strong finish to the
season.
Over his last 7 games Tyson
Chandler is averaging 13 pts, 17 reb, and 1.6 bl.
Charlie Villaneuva may be day
to day with an ankle sprain after leaving yesterdays game.
Steve Nash expects return
after the all-star break.
The Rockets traded for Jake
Tsakalidis. He may receive enough playing time to reduce the fantasy value
of Dikembe Mutombo. Yao Ming could potentially in early March.
Elton Brand's is day-to-day with an injured back.
Anderson Varejao will get
increased playing time over the next two games while Zydrunas Ilgauskas is
out for personal reasons.
Baron Davis had arthroscopic
surgery on his knee. He will miss around two weeks.
2/8/07
Grant Hill will miss 1-2 more weeks with a sprain of the
medial collateral ligament of the right knee.
J.J. Redick
has seen the biggest increase in value with Hill out the past 4 games. Prior
to the past 4 games, Redick had not taken more than 6 shots in a game but he
has surpassed that in each of the past 4 games including 11 yesterday. Over
the period he is 6 for 13 for treys and is averaging 12 ppg. However he does
little other than score. Those with Hill in deep leagues may want to
consider Redick for help in the three point category.
S. Livingston
played 37 minutes yesterday which is his highest total since January 6th.
While not starting, he is averaging 30 minutes over his past 4 games. His
stats over this time include 11.5 ppg, 2.5 spg, and 57% FG. While his
assists over these games have been shaky, that should improve and he gives
occasional blocks from the guard spot. His playing time has been increasing
even with Cassell in the lineup. Corey Maggette is the one yielding time to
Livingston including a DNP yesterday. If Maggette gets traded in the next
couple weeks it could really lock in Livingston's time.
It seems as if
J. Tinsley
is the one who has benefited the most as a result of Harrington and Jackson
leaving for Golden State. Over his past 4 games he is averaging 22 pts, 8
ast, 1.8 stls, 1.3 treys, and even 0.5 bl. His owners should hope he stays
healthy. Trading him away should also be a consideration if you worry about
him not sustaining his performance and the potential for injury (considering
his past history).
Jorge Garbajosa has scored in
double figures the past two games. The last time he did that was in
mid-December. While he does not get many rebounds and blocks for a center he
compensates for it with contributions in treys and steals.
With Monta Ellis not 100% and Baron Davis day-to-day
with an injury,
S. Jasikevicius
started and had 20 pts, 8 ast, 3 treys, 1 st, and 1 bl yesterday. However
Davis may be back to play on Friday sending Jasikevicius to the bench.
New York Post reports that
Steve Francis who has been out
with right knee tendonitis may return on the Knicks' upcoming three-game road
trip.
With Antawn Jamison still out a couple weeks,
Andray Blatche has seen a little
more playing time and had 12 rebounds yesterday.
Iverson aggravated his ankle injury yesterday and may go
back to being day to day including missing the all-star game.
Erick Dampier is day to day with knee tendonitis but
DeSagna Diop was unable to impress with a start yesterday.
Paul Pierce had a setback with his injury and continues
to be day-to-day.
2/6/07
Nene Hilario seems to have finally
recovered from his knee surgery. In his last three games he has averaged 20
pts, 7.7 reb., 1.3 bl. and 0.7 stls. He should be grabbed if available.
Marcus Camby is day to day with a strained groin and this could lead to more
playing time for Nene.
Ike Diogu had a brief moment the
other night when he had 19 pts and 9 reb with Troy Murphy a DNP. This would
show you his potential if Murphy were to be out for an extended time.
Jason Kapono has scored in double
digits in his last 8 games and has at least two treys in his last five games
including one six trey game
Brendan Haywood had 20 pts and 11
reb and continues to show himself to be a viable second center. However note
he is terrible from the FT line and went there 12 times yesterday making only
6.
B. Davis is day to day with a sore
knee. And although not apparent in yesterday's box score, Monta Ellis is day
to day with a knee contusion - this report could become worse after an MRI.
These injuries could restore some value to Mickeal Pietrus and Matt Barnes.
A. Iguodala is averaging 12 assists
in his last three games.
E. Watson has 30 assists and 7
steals in his last three games and has established himself at PG for the
Sonics.
Miami rookie
C. Quinn got a start with Payton
and Jason Williams out and had a respectable 14 pts, 5 ast, 5 reb, and 2 st
in 36 min.
P. Millsap played limited minutes
off the bench yesterday. Matchups and being foul prone could be the reason.
He should still be expected to have fantasy value with Boozer out.
Steve Nash aggravated his injured shoulder in the first
half yesterday and is day to day.
Andres Nocioni was put on the IL with plantar fasciitis
in his foot. Nocioni is expected to be out a couple weeks. This could lead
to Tyrus Thomas getting some playing time.
Rashard Lewis is expected to play this weekend. This
will take away M. Gelabale's playing time.
Iverson is day to day with a sprained ankle.
On Feb 3
Stromile Swift returned from an 11
game absence to play 17 minutes. He has the potential to fill a need for a
PF/C in daily transaction deep leagues.
2/2/07
Keith Bogans has played over 20 minutes in his last three games. His
most recent line included 14 pts, 7 ast, 2 st, and 3 treys.
Erick Dampier scored in double figures for the first time since January
12th. If available as a result of his slump he could be a
consideration for someone needing a center.
Rashad McCants played limited minutes in his first game of the season
after having a major knee operation. He could be a consideration in deeper
leagues.
The potential absence of Raja
Bell could increase the already healthy scoring of Leandro Barbosa. Bell has a sore knee and played limited minutes yesterday.
The Celtics, who have not won
since the beginning of January, do not have much incentive to rush Paul
Pierce back with his injured foot but he may return to the lineup by the
all-star break. A number of players have the potential to be negatively
affected by his return including Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, and Al Jefferson.
It could be that
L. James' absences from the lineup
could become somewhat chronic as his toe is not likely to fully heal during
the season. That could present a window for
S. Pavlovic to have value in deeper
leagues. Pavlovic has scored in double figures in his last two games.
