Notes from games of 11-28 The following are some notes I speed typed while skimming through box scores from Friday night. Will try to send out similar notes this season periodically. Jiri Welch has started the last three games for the Celtics. His stats so far are modest and his downside would be the return of Jumaine Jones. For now he is someone to have on your watchlist. While Tim Thomas is out, Desmond Mason should have solid fantasy value. Mason has not met expectations so far this season and this might be his chance to kick it up a notch. Over the last five games Chris Mihm has averaged 9 pts and 9 rebs and has been encroaching on the playing time of Ilgauskas. Al Harrington has been getting around 30 mpg off the bench for the Pacers and has recently shown strength in the PAR categories. Those with Derrick Coleman should probably find a good way to rid themselves of the DNP aggravation including waiving for an emerging player. Alvin Williams started very slowly due to injury but I believe he will round into shape. Vince should help his assist totals. I need to research what has happened to Drew Gooden. Seems like too good of a prospect to be not playing. He seems to be a casualty of the coaching change and had been shooting less than 40%. Francisco Elson, C, Den, a 27 year old rookie has shown some potential for the Nuggets. His upside is being a backup to the injury prone Camby. I recently drafted him in a deep keeper league (that does not drop players during the season). Those in need of treys should consider the Suns Casey Jacobson who hit 4 yesterday as a starter. He replaced the guy Danny Fortson laid out. Those with Ronald Murray should consider cashing him in before Ray Allen returns. Raja Bell recently went for 25 but his future playing time is not guaranteed. Jason Collins of the Nets should be playing around 30 mpg with Zo gone although will still have mediocre fantasy value. Those who dropped Zo should consider him if your league is deeper. Brad Miller is in the top twenty in the league in assists! Owners should consider how they feel about the return of Chris Webber on Miller's fantasy value. Trading away should be a consideration. I know that is a tough thought considering the numbers he has put up. Like Drew Gooden, Bonzi Wells value has been in a nose dive (a feud with the coach did not help). He seems to good though to stay out of favor too long. Those with guts may want to consider 'stealing' him from a frustrated owner. Those with Bonzi should cross the fingers and hope for the best (including a trade!). Jeff McInnis should be picked up if available since he is taking Bonzi's minutes.
