Q - Do you think trading Armstrong and Payton for Francis and Marion could help this team:

A - I think trading away Armstrong is wise because he may need to rest before the season is over because of his groin. Even Payton has been slowed at times by a groin strain and abdominal strain. Francis and Marion seem like equal value in return.

Q - With Lorenzen Wright out I need a good center to get me through the playoffs, which are the last five weeks of the Reg Season. I have in mind three that are Avail in my league

  • Brad Miller - Cha
  • Shawn Bradley - Dal
  • Mohammed - Alt

A - All three seem like good picks with bradley first and then miller close second (bradley though can get inconsistent time) Foyle is another consideration with Marc jackson potentially out.

Q - Hi HoopsKlyce,

I can make either of the following 2 trades: Jahidi White and Ruben Patterson for Chris Mihm, Corliss Williamson OR Rashard Lewis, Eric Snow and Jahidi White for Corliss Williamson, Ron Mercer, Matt Geiger. I am the one getting Corliss in these deals... what do you think? I picked up Chris Mihm and will waive Geiger - have Camby, Wallace, Mihm and Aaron Williams (reserve) at Center.

Thanks for your advice

A - If you insist on Corliss I would do the first deal- keep Rashard Lewis on your team.

Q - hoops, ESPN trading deadline is today, do you think I should try moving Vince Carter since he doesn't look like he is at full strength? Also, I picked up Alan Henderson when Hakeem went down, do you think miles is a better option at this point in the year? He's still available. Blocks are very tight and so are rebounds. Any thoughts?

A - Carter does not seem to be racking up stats as you would expect - trading seems ok if you can get solid value back - tough to trade a player though that may not be playing up to his potential even if it is Vince. Henderson is not a great shot blocker - Cato is an alternate and but the following if available are probably better - Foyle or Mihm

Q - Hoops- Seeing as how Isiah Rider and Ron Harper will eventually be back....do u still see Derrick Fisher as a viable option?? Also how much is Toni Kukoc worth right now...I'm trading for him and considering making Mcdyess part of the deal ...Thanks,

A - I don't think anyone but Shaq and Kobe will have sustainable value on the Lakers. I think Kukoc will finish the season as a fantasy star while McDyess may struggle with his knee.

Q - Hey Hoops, I need to replace Kobe and Nash with TWO of the following players:

  • Al Harrington
  • Rick Fox
  • Derek Fisher

I need Assists, Rebs, FG% and FT%. Or I could drop one of these players for Andre Miller. Who should I drop?

A - I would take Harrington since he is emerging and Fox since he will do better while Kobe is out. I would drop Nash if Andre Miller could replace him.

Q - I am leading in my roto scoring league, and I am looking to solidify my team for the final few weeks. I am leading in Blocks, but minus Ratliff, the next guy is now close and getting closer. I have the ability to pick-up points in 3's, rebounds and total points. I am looking to trade Glenn Robinson and Nash for Nowitski and one of: Travis Best, Kurt Thomas and Tim Thomas. I have R. Miller and with Kurt Thomas playing so well, I'm tempted to take him. He has an extra game, and might help in blocks. Tim Thomas is also playing well. Which do you think will play better down the stretch? Thanks

A - Tough choice but would take a shot with Thomas. He can rebound and has been improving his scoring. He also has a heavy schedule in the next week. If LJ is still not able to play because of his back he might put up some pts, reb, and block for you.
